Lock management software

Self-developed software for reception-side card issuance.

Required

KEYPLUS card encoder

Matching equipment for front-desk card issuance.

Required

M1 guest cards

Typically 2–3 cards per room for the M1 configuration.

Required

Handheld data collector

Retrieves offline opening records for transfer to the computer.

Optional

Energy-saving switch

Card-operated room power control where specified.

Equipment quantities are planned around room count and reception workstations, with cards and encoders matched to the selected lock version.

Offline Hotel Keycard Workflow

Card issuance, local room access and on-site record collection form one reception-led workflow.

  1. Issue Keycard

Reception issues the guest card using the lock management software and a matching KEYPLUS encoder.

  2. Offline Access

The guest presents the card at the lock. Standard local card entry does not require a continuous internet connection.

  3. Timed Expiry

Offline M1 cards stop opening the door at their programmed checkout time. Early lost-card revocation requires an update at the lock.

  4. Audit Trail Collection

Retrieve offline opening records with matching collection equipment and transfer them to the computer.

Hotel Lock System FAQs

What is included with a KEYPLUS hotel lock system?

The system brings together hotel locks, self-developed hotel lock management software, compatible KEYPLUS card encoders, room cards and a handheld data collector. The software is provided free with hotel lock purchases. Accessories are quoted separately, energy-saving switches are optional, and the hotel supplies the computer.

Does the standard system need an internet connection for room entry?

HT-L1Y, HT-L2, M1-130 and HT-S20 are standalone by default. Their local card-entry operation does not require a continuous internet connection. Networked configurations are separate options and require a matching gateway.

What happens if an offline M1 room card is lost?

An offline M1 card expires automatically at its programmed checkout time. To revoke a lost card before then, the door lock must be updated using a replacement card, a cancellation card or a handheld programmer. Registering a loss in reception software alone does not remotely update a standalone lock.

Can existing M1 hotel key cards and encoders be reused?

Existing encrypted hotel key cards cannot be reused directly. Blank M1 cards can be re-encrypted for the KEYPLUS system. The card encoder must be a matching KEYPLUS unit. Existing energy-saving switches require sample testing before reuse.

How can KEYPLUS lock software connect to an existing PMS such as Opera?

KEYPLUS offers project-based PMS/API integration for hotel card-issuance workflows. Compatibility depends on the PMS version, available interface and selected lock configuration. Integration development is scoped and quoted separately from the included hotel lock management software; compatibility with Opera or another named PMS is not universal.

How are audit records collected from standalone hotel locks?

Standalone locks store opening events locally. A matching data-collection card or handheld collector retrieves the records for transfer to the computer. The offline system does not synchronize those records to the cloud in real time. Matching collection equipment is specified for the project and quoted separately.

What should we do if the hotel card encoder stops working?

The system requires a matching KEYPLUS encoder; a generic third-party encoder is not a direct substitute. Contact KEYPLUS for troubleshooting and a matching replacement. An additional compatible encoder can be included in the equipment quotation as a front-desk spare.

Can we evaluate samples before placing a project order?

Yes. Samples are available for evaluation before a hotel project order. Contact KEYPLUS to discuss the selected model and sample arrangements.
